What is defining you?

So I sat down to do some work on the computer tonight and to shell out some encouragement to some of my new team members and I read a fellow blogger's post and I just had to reply.

Maren posted a revelation she is having during her journey to weight loss.  She is discovering that what the scale says does not define you.  That being fat does not have to mean being unhappy.

I want to talk about that a little bit because I have discovered through my Advocare journey that one thing I love to do is to help people discover that they can do things that they never thought possible.  I have helping people take hold of their life and their health and begin a journey to feeling great, looking great, and having control over something that they once thought was "just normal"  I have seen so many smiles and so much excitement this week my heart just sings with joy.  One of the biggest things that I want to emphasize and encourage anyone who is on a journey to health (be it with Advocare or not) to do is to make sure you are taking the time to enjoy the journey.  I would encourage you to realize that if you are unhappy with who you are now you will be unhappy with who you are 50lbs from now.  Losing weight and being healthy is great, but it doesn't make all problems go away.  Maren talked about building yourself up and enjoying who you are becoming.  That's a great idea, every day tell yourself what you like about yourself.  Even if it is a bad day, find something.  Through the journey make sure you become mentally and physically fit.

I have learned through my journey that you will never feel "thin enough"  there will always be room for improvement in your mind.  That is why you have to enjoy the journey, because it never ends....  There will always be more weight to lose, or a muscle to tone, or a size to get to.  Your mental attitude will determine weather you enjoy the journey or if you are always frustrated.  Trust those around you, build yourself up and take it one day at a time =0)

Good luck to all on your journey, I'd love to hear from you.

  1. Great points. Once you see what you can accomplish you want to strive to do more and more. I actually started my journey using the Advocare 24 Day Challenge and it got me through those first few weeks where the cravings can be a bear:-)

  2. Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts Stacy! I really appreciate getting to read different views on this topic! It's sooo easy to just think that "once I get thin I'll be happy", but it's not that easy!
